​Soaring Above the Rest is a flute method book by Shauna Thompson with corresponding compositions by Martin Blessinger.  Each etude develops a different extended technique with the goal of not only practicing these specific techniques, but also exposing young artists to contemporary musical language, and developing a more beautiful tone.

                           VI. Celebrations                (concert etude incorporating all five techniques)
