I've done some standard maintenance on the site today, including the posting of a couple of exciting announcements. First, both A Simple Prelude and Legend Suite are now available for purchase through C. Alan Publications (who have been very good to my music.) Second, Cradle Song was featured on the Hawaii Public Radio program "Singing and Other Sins," sandwiched between music of some of the greats. Quite an honor.

I'm excited to announce that my Rhapsody for Flute and Orchestra, composed for flutist Shauna Thompson, has reached a double bar! I was very excited to present the work to her this past Tuesday morning. Now comes the drudgery of editing...
I'm very excited to announce the premiere of my new work for solo violin, Exordium, by violinist Kyle Szabo at Florida Gulf Coast University this November. I will be on campus for a short residency interacting with composition and other students in the School of Music as well as attending the premiere performance. Many thanks to my friends Chris Endrinal and Jason Bahr for making this possible!
Check out all the new updates on the home page! Two things to look for in particular: Last month, the TCU Percussion Orchestra released their CD "Prelude to Paradise" on Albany Records, including my work Image for Percussion Orchestra: Burladingen beim ersten Schneelfall. You can purchase the album here on iTunes: Also, I have been invited to be a guest composer on the Cliburn at the Modern concert series in September. For more information, click the Cliburn logo below:
Today I updated the look of the Fanfare for Brass Quintet page, since the text box I had created looked pretty rough. More to come soon!
Last night I updated (at the expense of my sleep cycle) the main page of the website with a media player and representative clips from numerous pieces.
If you missed my recital with Composer Till MacIvor Meyn the first time around, the concert will be broadcast on KTCU 88.7 this Sunday, October 26th at 10am. If you're not in broadcast range of Fort Worth, TX, you can listen online at the following link:
KTCU streaming broadcast (this will download an m3u file which will direct your media player of choice to the streaming content) Thanks to David Warren for editing the audio and for bringing this to our attention! Today I added some new recordings from my recital this past Monday. Check em out below!
Diversions and Escapes Legend Suite The Talis Festival and Academy in beautiful Saas-Fee, Switzerland was a really great experience. Maria Wildhaber and Scott Pool organized a wonderful 10 day experience in the Swiss Alps, and we were treated with good music, good food, and good friendship throughout. The performance of my piece, a new arrangement of Fantasy on Ye Shanghai, was extremely well-performed and well-received. I couldn't have asked for a more rewarding way to spend my summer days. Saas-Fee: I will be back!
Check out this new video about the Talis Festival and Academy. Oh--the world premiere Maria mentions is mine :). |
